Education Program

Grace House Ministries offers a transformative, trauma-informed and Christ-centered education for girls who have experienced abuse and neglect. Through our on-campus school and partnerships with private and online programs, the Grace House Education Program provides personalized, high-quality learning tailored to each student. Rooted in structure, support and academic rigor, our holistic approach nurtures intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social and physical growth.

The program promotes goal-setting, life skills and personal development. Helping girls build resilience, confidence and a sense of purpose. With the support of staff, volunteers and community partners, we create a safe, disciplined and encouraging environment where every girl is empowered to heal, grow and thrive.

Grace House Campus School

The Grace House Campus School officially opened in 2012, offering a nurturing, alternative learning environment for girls not yet prepared for traditional school settings. Since 2014, it has operated under Alabama church school law as an extension of Harvest Community Church School, led by Pastor Michael Jones. This church school umbrella also includes accredited partnerships with Penn Foster and Alabama Connections Academy, expanding access to individualized, high-quality instruction.

Under Dr. Victoria Johnson’s direction, the school continues to thrive with a student-centered, constructivist approach. Dr. Johnson’s leadership has introduced key programs like Saturday School, residential high-dosage tutoring, a corporate work-study initiative and a dual enrollment partnership with Jacksonville State University. She also launched an online school partnership with Alabama Connections Academy, ensuring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are met and providing IEPs for those who need them.

Our Partner Schools

Some girls who live at Grace House are enrolled in one of our private, Christian partner schools—Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School and Restoration Academy. We believe that the structure and rigor of these schools is a reflection of the structure of Grace House, and we want our girls’ educational experiences to prepare them as much as possible academically, spiritually and physically.

Help Our Girls Succeed in the Classrom—Tutors Needed!

Grace House is looking for volunteer tutors in Math and English to support our Education Program. Just a few hours of your time each week can make a lasting impact on a girl’s confidence and future success.

Life Skills and Service

Etiquette Sundays

Etiquette Sunday take place on the first Sunday of every month and is a time for Grace House girls, Missionary Moms and staff to come together for a

special lunch after church. This lunch takes place at a nice restaurant and serves as a time for our girls to practice proper etiquette and good manners in a social setting.

Volunteerism

All girls participate in quarterly service projects (with the Campus School volunteering monthly) at various partner organizations, including the Foundry, First Light and Red Mountain Park.

Student Ambassadors

This is a great way to develop new skills and play a leadership role on campus. Ambassadors must uphold all standards and expectations associated with the Grace House mission, have a strong work ethic, fulfill academic obligations and serve as peer models for other residents. Serving as a point of contact for new residents, ambassadors have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, the desire to motivate others and the willingness to work as a team.
