Introducing Elizabeth and Naomi Homes
Every home on campus is named after a woman in the Bible. The Ladies of Faith, a long-time group of ladies who have faithfully committed to serving Grace House, help the girls study stories of women in the Bible. Continuing a beloved Grace House tradition, the girls take a vote on the names of our newest homes. They chose Naomi Home and Elizabeth Home. Two incredible stories of God’s redemption through scripture.
Naomi Home will honor a woman who was unselfish, repentant and loving. Naomi’s story begins during a time of drought and hardship. Though her family left God’s land seeking a better life, Naomi’s faith and character shone through her trials. She loved her daughters-in-law sacrificially, even when life grew bitter, and her repentance led to great blessings. She became the great-great-grandmother of King David. Naomi’s story will serve as an important reminder to our girls that even when life begins in brokenness, God can bring restoration and purpose.
Next door, Elizabeth Home will celebrate a woman who was righteous, obedient and honorable. Elizabeth, the wife of Zechariah and cousin to Mary, was chosen by God to bear John the Baptist in her old age. Her faith never wavered, and her joy overflowed when she recognized God’s promise fulfilled in Jesus. Elizabeth’s story shows our girls the beauty of trusting God’s timing and rejoicing in His faithfulness.
The impact of these two homes will reach beyond the ten girls who first move in—rippling outward for generations as each young woman carries the grace and strength she’s found at Grace House into her own future.
